COLD

Cool, Frozen, Thawed, Re-frozen, Sweat, Deep-freezed; so finally caught the COLD
Seeking coolness, i travelled along the Mekong river mostly. And in Vientiane, the Lao capital, the Mekong was freezing but still i walked the streets undefended by warm clothes.
The few days of stay in the South of Laos on Mekong Island of Don Dhet was of mixed climate. The river-side bungalow was cool in the evenings, freezing by the night, warm by morning and baking hot by afternoon. Adding to that my stay in Laos has been completing without any air-conditioning or hot-water, in Don Dhet there wasn’t even any fan or bulb because this island has NO electricity !
And my only typical illness - “the COLD” which had stayed hibernating for quite few years now (surprisingly); found exactly the right conditions to take me over.
Worsing up were the airconditioned buses which are bloody so good that they deep-freeze you like an vegetable.
Cold was severe with a mild fever on 2nd night before but i just got to the beach-side and to better civilised stays with hot-water; recovering fast….
